Resolves an argument reference to the actual macro name it represents.

Searches through the macro call stack to find where the argument is defined and follows any chained argument references until reaching a concrete macro name.

Arguments

• arg_name - The argument to resolve (e.g., “foo” from <foo>)
• scope_mgr - Call stack context for argument lookup
• max_depth - How far up the call stack to search
• contract - Source of macro definitions

Returns

The resolved macro name, or an error if the argument is undefined or invalid.
